Call of Duty: World at War is the fifth installment in the CoD franchise, with development duties being handled by Treyarch this time around. The franchise is well known for not only its addictive multiplayer and epic single-player campaigns, but the series also features achievements which are considered by many to be "badges of honor". This is due to many of the achievements focusing on completing the game on the highest difficulty setting, Veteran.
This guide will provide information on how to attain 1000 gamerpoints from Call of Duty: World at War, including the two secret achievements. Each achievement will show:
· Name of the achievement as shown on the Xbox 360
· Number of gamerpoints the achievement awards
· Description of achievement as it reads on the Xbox 360
· Small explanation of how to get the achievement

If you want to ramp up to Veteran difficulty, however, you can play through on Hardened and still earn this achievement. It's also a good way to prepare you for the utter brutality that Veteran offers in World at War. Also, if this is your first playthrough and you beat it on Veteran, you will also unlock the War Hero achievement.
Level-Specific Achievements
Some of the achievements in the game can only be gained by completed specific tasks in specific levels. These achievements can be completed on any difficulty, including Recruit, unless otherwise specified.
Carlson's Raiders - 10G
Description: Complete "Semper Fi" on any difficulty. (solo only)
Explanation: If you went through the Veteran difficulty already, then you've gained this achievement. If not, you can play through it rather quickly on lower difficulties for quick points.
Saved Private Ryan - 10G
Description: Save the soldier before he burns to death. (solo or co-op)
Explanation: This achievement is unlocked on the mission "Semper Fi". It's relatively early in the level, and it's definitely a moment you won't miss. At the start of the level, you will have to veer left and up a wooden plank pathway. At the end of this pathway, you'll find a couple of huts. After you've killed most of the soldiers at this part, Pvt. Ryan will come running and take cover behind a pile of crates in the center of the area. A couple of extra troops will pop up, so kill them real quick. After that, you'll continue onto another makeshift wooden plank pathway. Along this pathway, there is a hut to the right hand side. This is where you'll need to save Pvt. Ryan. As you are passing by the hut, there will be a man on fire that runs out of the hut. Kill this man. That will prevent Pvt. Ryan from catching fire, thus saving his life and netting you an extra 10G.
Weapon of Mass Destruction - 15G
Description: Radio in a naval bombardment that kills at least 4 Japanese soldiers. (solo or co-op)
Explanation: This achievement is unlocked on the mission "Little Resistance". It's relatively late in the level and very easy to get. At the beginning of the level, you will find that you are being suppressed by an MG nest and a ton of soldiers. You are given a radio that can call in artillery barrages every 20 seconds or so. First, take out the MG nest to make sure you don't get killed quickly. After that, just look for a concentration of four soldiers somewhere and call in a barrage on them. If you cannot get it here, then you can wait until later in the level. You'll be in a building with two mounted MGs, and outside are a TON of enemies ready to shoot at you. Just drop a barrage on them.
Snake in the Grass - 15G
Description: Take out a Japanese soldier while he is lying in wait in the grass. (solo or co-op)
Explanation: The easiest mission to collect this achievement on is "Hard Landing". You can do this and the No Safe Place achievement within 10 seconds or less of each other. It's about midway through the level. You'll hear a soldier say that you have a hike ahead of you until the next objective. As you are running down a sand road, you'll see a lot of palm trees ahead of you.
No Safe Place - 15G
Description: Burn an enemy out of a tree with the flamethrower in 'Hard Landing'. (solo or co-op)
Explanation: This achievement is unlocked on the mission "Hard Landing" right after you completed the Snake in the Grass achievement. The first tree after you burned the soldier in the grass has a sniper in it. Just run up to the tree on the right and torch it with a flamethrower.
The Professional - 15G
Description: Shoot all of Amsel's henchmen, including their attack dog, without reloading. (solo only)
Explanation: This achievement is unlocked right at the beginning of the "Vendetta" mission. You'll be given a sniper rifle by Reknov that you will need to use to take out all the guards, including their dog. Poor puppy... Reknov will tell you to wait for the planes to fly overhead and start bombing so your shots will not be heard. The gun only carries five bullets before reloading, but there are six guards plus the dog. This will require you to use some bullet penetration sweetness. First, snipe the guard in the middle with a centre mass shot.. Next, go for the two guards on the right by lining them up, then shoot the front guard in the head. This will shoot the other guard in the head as well. Now you'll go for the left guards. Wait for one of the guards to line up his thigh with the other guard's head, then shoot the front guard level with the back guard's head. After you kill all of these guards, another guard and a dog will show up down the middle in the distance. You can freely snipe the dog, then the guard. BAM! Achievement unlocked!
Gunslinger - 15G
Description: Assassinate General Amsel with a pistol shot. (solo only)
Explanation: This achievement is unlocked on the "Vendetta" mission. It will prove rather difficult, as it's a long distance between you and Amsel. This will take several tries for most players, but it is possible with some patience and a steady aim. First, you'll need to get a pistol. After your "battle" with the sniper in the building with the banners on it, you'll go to the blown out portion of the room closest to that building. There is a table with a Walther on it. After this, you'll get to a point where Reknov has you standing at a window, and you are waiting for Amsel to walk out of a building with some bodyguards. He will come out of the building and hide behind a tank. A sniper will pop out from behind that tank to kill you, so make sure you take him out first. After that, if you keep your cursor right at the exact spot that you headshot the sniper, you can headshot Amsel as well.
Firestarter - 15G
Description: Complete a mission using only the flamethrower. Melee, grenades & explosives are OK. (solo or co-op)
Explanation: This isn't necessarily a level-specific achievement, but the easiest mission to do it on is "Burn 'Em Out", as you are given the flamethrower from the start. Basically, you just do what the achievement says: use your melee attack, grenades, explosives, and provided flamethrower to wreak havoc and complete the level. Time to hit up the Recruit difficulty!!!
Iron Fist - 15G
Description: Destroy all towers and bunkers in "Blood and Iron". (solo or co-op) Explanation: This achievement is unlocked on the "Blood and Iron" mission, which puts you in control of a tank as you take out some artillery guns. Towers:1. A red water tower just after you turn the first corner.2. Another red water tower directly behind the first red water tower.3. To the left of the far-left artillery gun.4. To the right of the far-right artillery gun, in between the two bunkers.5. Behind the right bunker.6. Look to the far right, you will see it to the left of a tank sitting on the hill. Bunkers1. To the right of the far-right artillery gun.2. To the right of Tower 4. Part 2: Proceed to the Radio Tower Towers1. Before you turn right to destroy the Radio Tower you will see some Russian soldiers running across a field, look into the distance and you will see a red water tower. Part 3: Destroy Radio Tower Towers1. To the left of the Radio Tower.2. To the right of the Radio Tower. Bunkers1. As you turn right in to the field with the Radio Tower look to the left a little bit, there is a bunker slightly hidden in the trees. You will see rockets fly at you from the bunker. Part 4: Rejoin the Russian Army Towers:1. Behind the left side of the big bunker.2. To the east of the big bunker. Bunkers1. You can't miss it as you come up the hill. There are two parts to it, left and right, make sure you destroy both! Part 5: Break the German line and reach the train station Towers1. As you come over the hill you will see it to the left of the trenches with a tank in the middle.2. To the right of the previously mentioned tank.3. As the planes fly over they destroy this one but just check they do.4. The furthest right you can go, north on your compass, next to some concrete blocks.5. Follow the concrete blocks down to the left, you should see it as you drive into the train station. If you haven't got the achievement by now then you've missed something. Make sure you see the explosion from each of the bunkers as you go past them. A tower is only destroyed when you can only see the metal structure 'legs' left.
Ruthless - 15G
Description: Kill 15 enemies while mounted on a tank in "Ring of Steel". (solo or co-op)
Explanation: This achievement is unlocked on the "Ring of Steel" mission, towards the end of the level. As you go through the Asylum and everything, you will end up outside and two tanks will be on the streets. You can head over to the tanks and jump in to use the .50 caliber turret. This will get you the 15 enemies needed to unlock the achievement.
Shot in the Dark - 10G
Description: Kill 10 enemies while the lights are out in the subway in "Eviction". (solo or co-op)
Explanation: This achievement is unlocked on the "Eviction" mission (which is personally my favorite in the game). The lights will flicker back and forth between being on and off. You have to kill 10 enemies while the lights are out, which shouldn't be too hard. Even with the lights out, your "auto-aim" function (tapping the left trigger in the vicinity of an enemy puts your gun right on them) will still work. Kill 10 doods, and you've got the achievement.
The Sum of All Zeros - 15G
Description: Down 45 Japanese Zeros in "Black Cats". (solo only)
Explanation: This achievement is unlocked in the "Black Cats" mission, and it is one of the harder ones to get simply because many of the Zeros are off in the distance and hard to aim at. Nonetheless, they are all around, and it will take you several tries to get this one completed. Just keep trying...and avoid picking up survivors. Most of the good chances to down a Zero is when you have to pick a survivor up.
Lights Out! - 10G
Description: In "Black Cats", blast out all the spotlights in the Japanese cargo convoy. (solo only)
Explanation: This achievement is unlocked in the "Black Cats" mission. There are 3 Japanese merchant ships that you need to destroy all lined up in a convoy. At the front and rear of each ship, there is a spotlight. Take out the six spotlights before the three passes on the ships are through and you'll unlock this achievement. Word to the wise: if you missed a spotlight at any point before the last pass on the ships, you can still complete it at this point, but the shells do a LOT more damage to the ships and can blow them up. Simply blowing up the ships does NOT count towards the achievement. Therefore, you may want to consider restarting from your last checkpoint.
Mortar-dom - 10G
Description: Kill 8 Japanese with thrown mortars in "Breaking Point". (solo or co-op)
Explanation: This achievement is unlocked in the "Breaking Point" mission. Right before you enter the castle, there are three mortar pits that you need to clear out. Once you've done so, you'll find some boxes that have mortar shells in them. These can be used as grenades to be thrown at your enemies. Kill 8 Japanese with them, but be careful, as they are super deadly!!!
Guardian Angel - 10G
Description: In the final battle for Okinawa, save Sergeant Roebuck. (solo or co-op)
Explanation: ***SPOILERS*** This achievement is unlocked in the "Breaking Point" mission. As you progress through the level, you'll eventually get to a point where you find some Japanese soldiers that look like they are going to surrender to you. As Roebuck and Polonsky move up to them to take them captive, the soldiers get in a struggle and grab onto their weapons. At this point, you have Polonsky on the left side and Roebuck on the right side. One of them HAS to die, as far as I've been able to tell. If you want this achievement, you have to kill the Japanese soldier that is struggling for Roebuck's weapon. In turn, Polonsky will die and not Roebuck.
Miscellaneous Achievements
These are achievements that don't necessarily fit into any one specific category. They can be completed on any difficulty including Recruit unless otherwise specified.
War Hero - 40G
Description: Complete the game on any difficulty. (solo only)
Explanation: It's self-explanatory. Just beat the game.
Kamikaze - 15G
Description: Complete any level on Regular or higher difficulty using only melee and grenades. (solo only)
Explanation: The easiest level do try this on "Semper Fi". It will take some time, as grenades are not always in high supply. Nonetheless, everyone will have their preference, but "Semper Fi" is just a bit too easy of a level and really built for grenading the hell out of soldiers.
Throw a Six and a Half - 15G
Description: On Hardened or Veteran difficulty, complete a level without dying. (solo only)
Explanation: I did this on Eviction on Hardened, and it was just a matter of being very careful. Make sure you have mastered being able to use your left trigger "auto-aim", as it helps a ton. Carry an automatic weapon and a rifle with you, as it will help with switch-off needs. Other than that, take your time and you'll get the achievement. If you die in a level, though, you'll have to restart the level all over again.
Stormed Peleliu - 15G
Description: Establish a beachhead on the island of Peleliu on any difficulty. (solo only)
Explanation: This achievement is unlocked once all the American missions for the island of Peleliu are completed, the last mission being "Relentless".
The Last Stand - 20G
Description: Survive the land and air conflict surrounding Okinawa on any difficulty. (solo only)
Explanation: This achievement is unlocked after you've completed all the missions on Okinawa are completed, the last mission being "Breaking Point".
Stabbed in the Heart - 20G
Description: Complete all missions on the Eastern Front on any difficulty setting. (solo only)
Explanation: Self-explanatory. If you beat the game, then you'll unlock the achievement.
Purple Heart - 5G
Description: When staring in the face of adversity, show courage and persevere.
Explanation: Die 10 times in a level. That's it.
Rough Economy - 15G
Description: Kill 3 enemies with a single bullet. (solo or co-op)
Explanation: Self-explanatory. The best way to do this is outside the building that I talked about at the end of the Weapon of Mass Destruction achievement. Line up a good triplet headshot and you'll be fine.
Close Shave - 10G
Description: Survive a Banzai attack. (solo only)
Explanation: Whenever a Japanese soldier goes to bayonet you, click your right analog stick in and shove a shiv in his neck!
Grave Robber - 15G
Description: Collect all Death Cards in the game. (solo only)
Explanation: There are a total of 13 Death Cards in the game, one in each level that does not include any form of vehicular combat. Each card, once you've gotten them, will unlock a cheat available in private co-op matches. These are the locations, by order of levels from start to finish, as well as what the cheat will do. When you find them, they will be a soldier's helmet that has a card pinned to it.
1. Eight of Hearts (aka Thunder): Found in the "Semper Fi" mission. After the beginning cinematic is done playing, the level starts. To your right, you will see a small shack. There is a helmet on the floor. Cheat makes headshots cause enemies to explode.
2. Four of Clubs (aka Hard Headed): Found in the "Little Resistance" mission. At the end of the level, there is a big bunker that you'll have to take over. Before you take down the bunker and defeat the level, the card is sitting in the bushes to the right in front of the bunker. Cheat makes enemies take less bullet damage.
3. King of Hearts (aka Suicide King): Found in the "Hard Landing" mission. There is a big building that you'll eventually get to that is very reminiscent of the big building found on the "Airfield" multiplayer map. On the lower level, you'll find a very dark room with a lantern barely lighting it. The card is right in front of it. Cheat gives you explosive pistol rounds when you are downed.
4. Five of Diamonds (aka Cold Dead Hands): Found in the "Vendetta" mission. Fairly early in the level, Reznov will lead you into a building. If you wait a second or two, he'll then open access to the bar area. Once you are behind the bar, turn the corner, and you'll see the card resting at the end of the bar. Cheat stops weapons from dropping, thereby limiting ammo greatly.
5. Joker (aka Stick & Stones): Found in the "Their Land, Their Blood" mission. About halfway into the mission, you'll have to blow up three different tanks to continue the story progress. After this, you'll move up to a barn. A cutscene plays out that has a tank breaking through the barn doors. Take out that tank, and then go into the barn. There will be a dead cow on the ground with the card staked in him. Cheat disallows the use of weaponry other than melee.
6. Queen of Hearts (aka Vampire): Found in the "Burn 'Em Out" mission. After you clear out the first mortar pit, you'll continue on through the level until you get to a part where there are some crates and two explosive barrels. After those barrels are blown up, some enemies will run out from a darkened pathway to the left of those barrels. Kill them, run in, and the card is at the end of the dug-in trench. Cheat makes your health recharge only by killing enemies.
7. Nine of Diamonds (aka Flack Jacket): Found in the "Relentless" mission. You'll go into the underground areas that the Japanese are holed up in and kill a ton of them. Eventually, you'll get to a point where the pathway splits up. It doesn't matter which one you pick because they both lead to the same area. You'll eventually get to a pathway that connects the two forked pathways. The card is in the middle of this connecting path. Cheat makes enemies take less grenade damage.
8. Jack of Spades (aka Body Armor): Found in the "Ring of Steel" mission. The mission starts out like the Upheaval map from the multiplayer, then soon transitions over to the Asylum map. Once you get to the actual Asylum building, you'll see a blown-out portion of the building below an MG you had to take out, as well as an archway leading into the courtyard. To get the card, you'll go through the archway and hang a left. Keep running until you see an entryway with half-walls and columns. The card can be found in this little nook. Cheat makes enemies die only by headshots.
9. Ace of Spades (aka Undead Soldier): Found in the "Eviction" mission. It's fairly early in the level. As you progress, you'll get to a point where a Russian soldier is being held captive by some Germans. Once you save him, there will be a BIG firefight in the area after this. Keep fighting and you'll eventually get to a big ass hole in the floor. Drop down into the hole (yes, you can get back up to the top floor afterward), and the card is in that room. Cheat turns enemies into zombies (making the game infinitely cooler).
10. Ten of Clubs (aka Painkiller): Found in the "Blowtorch & Corkscrew" mission. After you blow up the first MG bunker, you'll continue forward a bit and be attacked by some Banzai attackers that come around the corner. Instead of running around the corner, you'll want to go towards the stone wall on the left hand side. There will be a corpse slumped over a stone and the card is right in front of him. Cheat makes you able to revive your teammates by shooting at them (which makes this one of the sweetest cheats possible for Veteran difficulty).
11. Three of Diamonds (aka Berserker): Found in the "Breaking Point" mission. After you clear out the first two mortar pits, you'll get to a big courtyard area that has a small building in it. Ahead of this courtyard is Shuri Castle. The small building to the right side in the courtyard, however, has your card in it. Cheat unlocks Rage mode, where you'll briefly become invincible and only use a knife for killing if you get three kills in five seconds.
12. Six of Clubs (aka Paintball): Found in the "Heart of the Reich" mission. This is a super easy one to grab. Right after the opening cutscene is completed, you'll be given your gun. Head to your left, and you'll see a half-wall entryway. Go through that and hang another left. You'll see a flight of stairs going downward, and the card is in the enclave at the end of it. Cheat changes all blood splatters in the game to paint. (How Sin City of them...)
13. Two of Spades (aka Victory): Found in the "Downfall" mission. At the beginning of the level, you'll have to rape a ton of face in the theatre. After that, you'll have a double staircase that leads to a big doorway. Go through this doorway, then hang a right. Once you get to the end, hang a left. Once you get to the end, you can go left and continue the mission, or go right into a room with the card. Cheat makes the game rather difficult on Veteran, as it puts you into "Real War Mode". This limits your HUD, turns on friendly-fire, and makes you bleed out much quicker than before.
Multiplayer Achievements
Even though co-op has finally been introduced to CoD, and a new Nazi Zombie mode is added once you beat the campaign, there really aren't many specific achievements for either of them. As a matter of fact, there are NONE for Nazi Zombie mode. Personally, I'm glad for this, but at the same time, it seems like a waste of good potential achievements. Either way, these are achievements that can be unlocked by playing various multiplayer modes. There are two secret achievements as well that are not worth any form of G, but if you are a completionist, then you'll want to get them anyways.
Blue Ribbon - 25G
Description: Complete a 4-player Competitive Co-op match in 1st place over Xbox Live. (online co-op only)
Explanation: If you want to get this one honestly, have fun and knock yourself out. However, if you want to get this the easy way, just host a game over Xbox Live and have three of your buddies jump in with you. There HAVE to be four players through the entire match to unlock the achievement. From there, just kick ass, get 1st place, and add another 25G to your gamerscore.
Get Your Left Foot Wet - 30G
Description: Complete a match in Campaign Co-op mode over Xbox Live. (online co-op only)
Explanation: Self-explanatory and easy. You have to play the match from start to finish.
Get Your Right Foot Wet - 30G
Description: Complete a match in Competitive Co-op mode over Xbox Live. (online co-op only)
Explanation: Self-explanatory and easy as well. You have to play the match from start to finish, and it doesn't matter what place you get.
It's All About Prestige - 0G
Description: You achieved the first level of Prestige. Only 9 more to go.
Explanation: Rank up to level 65 in the multiplayer functions and hit that prestige button. If you don't, then Ice-T is going to make you eat a dick. Word to the wise: competitive co-op points and performance also go towards your overall rank if it is hosted over XBL. It also has its own set of challenges. *wink wink*
Secret Achievement - 0G
Rank up through all 10 levels of Prestige and prove you're a badass with absolutely no life.

Nazi Zombie FAQ
The Nazi Zombie Mode.
Here’s the basics about the Nazi Zombie Mode. First, you can only unlock the cooperative mode after you’ve finished the single player campaign. Second, it’s played by you and three of your friends against an increasingly difficult waves of zombies. Third, the zombies come in waves until you’re dead.
Here’s how to stay alive:
1. You’ll start in a room with five points of entry. Each window will be boarded up. As zombies tear down the barricades in each window, you’ll have to stop the zombies from entering. The good news? You get cash for each shot landed on every zombie, cash for rebuilding barricades and cash for killing zombies. So, in the early rounds, don’t shoot the zombies. Let the zombies come to the window and tear down the barricades, then kill them. You’ll get cash for killing the zombies and replacing the barricades. Also get all the headshots you can as these are worth 110 points each. with the pistol, just put 5 in the chest, then one in the head, never fails.
2. In the main room, you can only buy a Kar98 or a M1A1 Carbine. The Kar98 is a bolt action rifle with five rounds. Do not buy the Kar98. It’s useless. After level 4, it ceases to become a one shot one kill weapon, so dont waste your points. Go with the M1A1 Carbine.

3. There’s two other areas that you’ll be able to access. The first is up the stairs. It will cost you 1,000.00 points. Upstairs you’ll find grenades, the BAR and the Trench Gun. There’s four windows and the main stair case to defend. If you choose this route, have two of your comrades cover the three windows in the rear room and keep two on the main staircase and adjacent window. There’s two problems with going upstairs, the first, the weapons up there aren’t very good. Second, defending the staircase is a bitch. This is not a strategy i wouldnt typically recommend.
4. Alternative strategy: there’s a room that you can open by paying 1,000.00 points It will give you access to the Tommy gun, the double barrelled shotgun, and the mystery box. For 950.00 points, you can take a chance at getting a random gun. This is very much worthdoing as you can get the hidden easter egg laser gun in this box which is one hit one kill for every level, or, if you really fancy getting to the higher levels, you need the flamethrower, but we will cover more on that later one. The problem? We’ll, it isn’t very easy to defend. It has only four points of entry, but one of the points of entry is the door to the main room, which will be swarming with zombies. It’s tight quarters in there and if one of the zombies gets into the main room, it’s tough to last long.
5. Alternate strategy #2: Open the room with the mystery weapons as soon as someone reaches $1,000. Then have one person guard that entire room until your teammates earn enough money to try the mystery weapon. If you’re lucky, you’re entire team will get really good weapons, MG’s, the MP44 or even the Ray Gun, which is a one shot laser pistol. Then, once you’re entire team is loaded up, head upstairs. While the staircase is a bitch to guard, if you have the right load out, you can hold off there for a long time. Put the two guys with the best weapons on the staircase and have the other two guard the three windows in the rear room. If you can do this, you can hold out for quite a while.
Also, near the end of a round, try and nade a zombie to blow off its legs, then DO NOT KILL IT!!! This gives you a crawler, which is slow and useless, and you can use this time to re-build barriers, get weapons and ammo, or rearrange your defensive positions, whatever you want to do.
Also, also, if your in competition with your friends on who can get to the highest level, go into match making and check out the other players rank, and position on the lobby leaderboard. the higher the better. you wouldn't want to get matched up with some shitty little rank 1, would you?
So, there are some basic strategies. Here’s the top five tips to go along with those strategies.
1. Get your team on the same page guarding one particular point of entry.
2. Assign specific teammates to watch other teammates back. Then if someone needs help, only one will come to help, instead of the entire team.
3. If a guy goes down, two teammates have to help. One to revive the downed comrade and the second to cover both of them. If you only send one, you’ll have two to revive…
4. Headshots. In the later rounds, that’s the only thing that will take the zombies down.
5. You can reload, or shoot while repairing barricades. It’s essential you do both as the waves get more difficult.

Perk Walkthrgugh
PERKS:
PERK SLOT 1.
Special Grenade x 3 – Three special grenades. No smoke.Actually quite useful now that tabun gas has been introduced. Lobbing 3 of those into a room will more than incapacitate anyone involved.
Satchel Charge x 2 – Two remote detonation explosives.I usually use this perk with a good stealth class. Why? Because its fun to silently take out most of a team and hear them screaming down the mic to their team mates to get you, who run round a corner, straight into a fireball. It’s the small things.
M9A1 Bazooka x 2 – M9A1 bazooka with two rockets.yeah, its good to take out a tank, but still fairly useless, as most the time the tank takes you out shortly after, and NEVER try and kill a person with one, for christs sake. It wont work.
Bomb Squad – Unlocks at level 16.Probably the most pointless perk into the entire world. It is a very rare occasion when a landmine is place in an area which isn’t a choke point or bottleneck etc, so you know when you are going to get taken out by one.
Bouncing Betty x 2 – Unlocks at level 24.Absolutely fantastic. If you’re a sniper, use them to safeguard yourself, in normal combat, just put them down anywhere, in CQB, lure people into them…. Whatever game you play, just sit back and rack up the kills.
Bandolier – Unlocks at level 40.Spray and pray? Using double tap? Definitely for you. Using absolutely any other perk or gaming style? Then its completely pointless. Also if your not good at the game and die a lot (before you get chance to use your ammo)….?
Primary Grenade x 2 – Unlocks at level 44.Always good for racking up kills even if you are launching them across the map. Pretty self explanatory really.
M2 Flamethrower – Unlocks at level 65.I have no idea why this is a perk and not a weapon, but it does as follows: ‘LOOK AT ME!!!!! I’M A FRIGGIN’ TARGET!!!!!’ Basically, stay away, its shit.
PERK SLOT 2.
Stopping Power – Increased bullet damage.Good for every kind of player who can shoot. Put them down before they put you down. You would be amazed at the difference it makes. Especially for sniping. Shoot them in the toe and watch them fall. Always try and pair with Deep impact if possible.
Fireworks – Higher explosive weapon damage.Use explosives a lot? Then use it. Otherwise it is THEE most pointless thing ever.
Flak Jacket – Reduces explosive damage. OK, this is more pointless, but not by that much more.
Gas Mask – Protects against Tabun Gas.Actually quite good for CQB perks but for the majority of it, I wouldn’t bother.
Juggernaut – Increased health. A must use for newer players. Will definitely help increase your K/D spread if you’re a stat player.
Camouflage – Unlocks at level 12.A stealth class is absolutely no good if the enemy know where you are. Ergo, USE IT!!! Just the sound of shock when you pop out and lace some unsuspecting victim is priceless.
Sleight Of Hand – Unlocks at level 28.only any good when used in conjunction with the MG42, Browning 90MM, or one of the double barrelled shotguns. The reload times on these weapons is a joke. Without this perk, you can become weaponless for about 8 seconds everytime you reload.
Shades – Unlocks at level 32.POINTLESS……… enough said.
Double Tap – Unlocks at level 36.I love to use this on the light MG’s. It makes them incredibly deadly, so long as you can keep in control of the inaccuracy.
Overkill – Unlocks at level 56.I tend not to use this as it stops you using other (more useful) perks. The only time I would advise using it is if you aren’t sure whether you prefer close quarter fighting or killing from a distance. Can work well with a Shotgun and Sniper rifle. PERK
SLOT 3.
Deep Impact – Deeper bullet penetration. An absolute must for sniping. How many times have you spotted someone nipping behind a wall? What to do? Easy, assassinate the fucking wall.
Extreme Conditioning – Sprint for longer distances.unless your really intent on getting the 26 mile challenge before EVERYONE else, don’t bother. It will rarely save your life.
Steady Aim – Increased hip fire accuracy.Only good if you dislike shotguns but like CQB. Combine this, with doubletap, and go rambo-ing. I wont guarantee a Massive K/DS but is very fun.
Toss back – Resets fuse of picked up grenades. Unlocks at level 6.Again, unless you’re a CQB kind of guy, I wouldn’t bother. Grenades hardly ever land at your feet, so by the time you have got them, they have exploded. Pointless really.
Second Chance – Revive downed allies (Last stand with the added bonus of being able to revive teammates bleeding out) Unlocks at level 9. Well seen as no one else uses this perk, most the time, you wont get revived. The only bonus is that it gives you one quick chance of revenge by plugging the guy who shot you. Its ok, but I don’t use it.Martyrdom – Unlocks at level 20.apart from your sniping class, every other class should use this perk. I guarantee it will boost your kills immediately.
Fireproof – Unlocks at level 48.No one uses the flamethrower, or molotovs that much, so this isn’t the ideal perk for everyday use. I tend not to use it.
Dead Silence – Unlocks at level 52.Completely pointless as no one pays close enough attention to the sound of footsteps. This perk was originally meant to be scrapped, but they added it anyway….. god knows why.
Iron Lungs – Unlocks at level 60.don’t, ……..sorry, DO NOT have a sniping class without this perk. If you do, you will be sacrificing a lot of kills. Its perfect for this perk. It just gives you that extra couple of seconds to snipe before they leave view.
Reconnaissance – Unlocks at level 64.show enemy vehicles all the time. Why? I haven’t got a clue, because from 30 metres, they already appear on radar. So yeah, really, don’t use it.VEHICLE PERKSWater Cooler – Decreases turret overheat.Greased Bearings – Increases turret rotation speed.Ordnance Training – Unlocks at level 12.Decreases reload time.
Lead Foot – Unlocks at level 28.Doubles the speed of your vehicle.
Coaxial Machine Gun – Unlocks at level 40. Use both the main cannon and the machinegun without a co-driver.
Extra Custom Weapon Slots.
Slot 6 - Unlocks on your first prestige.
Slot 7 - Unlocks on your second prestige.
Slot 8 - Unlocks on your fourth prestige.
Slot 9 - Unlocks on your seventh prestige.
Slot 10 - Unlocks on your tenth prestige.
Bolt Action FAQ
Golden Rules of a sniper:
Rushers and Snipers will nearly always go to the same spots in each particular game. Don’t ignore this. Check these spots before moving on.When sniping on a map, make sure you know the best positions and nests beforehand, so you know where to go, and where enemy snipers will be. Never run your weapon dry. Even if you have a screen full of enemies, only take out your target. Period. The idea is to keep them guessing, and firing 4 or 5 rounds into a crowd, then sitting there reloading for tens minutes while they cook grenades is a dumb tactic. Don’t do it ever. Bouncing Betties are your new best friend. They are rarely there to kill, if an enemy runs past them whilst primed, they hardly ever kill, but when they go off, you get notified. Use this 3 seconds until the enemy shows up to get into a defensive position. And remember, when they come around the corner, and you blow their head off, change position. No, I don’t mean lie down, I mean different area of the map. They WILL be pissed you killed them, they Will come back. Move some distance away and pick them off as they stare at where you used to be. As a sniper, you have to remember, you don’t have a machinegun. You will lose in a CQB to someone with any other weapon. Don’t go Rambo with a scoped Kar98k. There is no point. In the gaming world, as a sniper there is one kind of person you have to watch out for. They are called mobile snipers. It is a technique I practise myself, and I know how hard it is to kill me, so watch out for them. What we do is as follows: take a shot. It doesn’t matter if you managed to take out 10 people with that one shot or missed entirely. We move. Whether it be across the map, or 2 feet away it doesn’t matter. Every time we do that, some dick is stood staring at where we were, waiting to die. You see someone shoot-run-shoot-run-…etc, ignore them. And stay out of sight. When the UAV shows up on the enemy side, find a nice place to camp, and DO NOT FIRE. You don’t need to wear a billboard saying ‘shoot me’, so don’t. A good thing to point out is when in a room with a window which you are sniping out of, use the whole room. You are safer stood up moving about the room than you are sat by a window waiting for your head to pop. Also, sitting by windows makes the end of your rifle poke out, making you more noticeable to everyone around you and below you. Holding your breath multiplies the recoil, so when firing repeatedly, only your first shot will find its mark.Always lead with the sights. This means, position your scope crosshairs about 3 steps in front of your targets predicted path, and let them walk into your bullet. It is much easier than following targets. Respect: The last free tip I am going to give is respect. Respect everything you do. Snipers are the ones who channel themselves into a single moment and relieve the world of another un-expecting victim. Your job is to kill at a distance, not get into a lobby and start gloating because you had 0 deaths and XX kills. Also respect that you aren't the best sniper in the game, you will always be second to someone because that is just how life works. Respect yourself, don't become discouraged or frustrated because you are struggling, this is only a game, and I promise if you practice you will become good. The biggest rule of all?:One Shot; One Kill. Period.

General Online Help
Beginner Tips - Use sniper rifles. The idea is to learn how to kill from far away, then learn to get closer to your target. This will really help you get into the game properly. Plus, sniper rifles usually kill in one pull of the trigger, so your target is dead, less chance of them turning around and blowing you away.
If you're new, it's imperative that you learn the maps. You'll want to take note of key hot spots, side paths, and sniping positions.
Try not to hide behind cars, as they can explode from gunfire/grenades.
ALWAYS, ALWAYS check your corners.
Flank enemy positions every opportunity you can.
Use all types of grenades that you have (special and frags).
Get into the habit of not aiming down the sights, all the time.
Start a private match by yourself and learn each map
Always crouch when moving in buildings. (You make less noise that way when not using Dead Silence.)
When in the open sprint for cover.
When enemy airstrikes come hug the wall and pray or run for the nearest building WITH a roof.
Pick which gun/perks work best for you and your playing style. (Like me, Snipewhore, so I use a scoped Kar98K, with some BB's, and deep impact.)
Movement - Always try to keep on the move, moving from 1 position to another. Be aware of your surroundings. Your spatial awareness has to be good for veteran and especially if you play online. If you move out in the open, try to plan in advance positions where you are going to run to next for cover, such as behind a wall, so if the enemy suddenly appears you have set places in your mind you can use for cover.Plan a few alternate cover positions in case you cant reach 1 in time. If you are behind a wall or other such cover, and you appear from it and snipe at the enemy, crawl back down and move to another position. that way you wont be predictably appearing up from the same position which would make you a much easier target.
Be Aware - It's simple. Always glance at your radar when you can. Then listen for footsteps and judge where an enemy will be.
Look at where your teammates are on the radar. Those areas are much less likely to have enemies.
Always try to get to know the map well enough to know where an enemy might be coming from.
Predict where enemies will be. Always be ready for an enemy around every corner...because as you know, it is very easy to hide with UAV jammer and a silenced weapon.
I dont know what it is about the game, or maps, but everyone always goes ramboing. these people, are in fact idiots. look out for long grass, tunnels, like on pipework, high rises, bottlenecks, anything you can multi-K or nade or spam to bump up kills. dont run at them screaming something about getting to the chopper all guns ablaze. i garauntee, death will be the only outcome.
If you hear a grenade drop, slow down what you're doing until you hear it explode. No reason to run right into a freshly thrown grenade.
Flaming cars will explode with a blast radius of almost double that of a C4.
If you see a C4, don't just run by it, chances are that the enemy is waiting for you to walk by
Airstrike? Predict enemy movement. - Before dropping an airstrike, try to narrow down the movement of the enemy players. When you launch the airstrike, don't launch it exactly in the center of many red dots on the radar, instead, look at the map, study it and predict exactly where that all those enemies will be when that air strike hits. It takes about 7 seconds for the air strike to start kicking in, so enemies could easily dodge it if you launch it in a predictable area. Instead determine if the area of the red dots is an open area, is it? Good, now determine if the area is more of a camping zone (or a choke area) or an area where the enemy is moving through. Now predict where the enemy will be in the next few seconds. You can now launch the airstrike. This is how to rack up many kills with it.
Aiming Tips:#1. Shoot the enemy in the body/chest and then in the head to kill him because, for most guns, even with stopping power it takes 2 bullets to kill, even if both land in the head.
#2. Aim for the tip/middle of the opponents head to land a headshot. This is due to the scope being mounted on TOP of the rifle, thus leading to a small bullet displacement that increases as the distance increases. At short ranges the bullet displacement maybe only 1 cm, but as the enemy get's farther away, the greater the bullet displacement becomes. (For example, it may hit them in the neck, instead of the head.) If you aim at the middle of that head or at the tip, there is more chance of the bullet hitting exactly where you want it. It works, 90% of the time.
Another great CoD5 (thanks for this one scarface) tip is, when firing any of the weapons (assault rifles, sub machine guns such as the mp40) at a distance, always try to fire single controlled shots (to avoid recoil which will just throw your aim off), just move the cross hair in a smooth motion covering any area where you think the enemy might appear.
Non-Headshot snipers: If you find it hard to get headshots with a sniper, use the stopping power and deep impact perks, you will almost always get a 1-hit kill when shooting the torso ( deep impact is for shooting other snipers hiding everything but there weapon behind a wall)
How to tell if someone has Juggernaut - When you fire at someone and you see a red cross, it means they are using the juggernaut perk.
Slow down - Don't always run out and think you're Rambo. This is why a lot of people are horrible at this game (PaceyJ). Other than that, have quick reflexes, think before you move into an area where there are a lot of enemy players and just stay attentive.
Oh and if a guy is camping in one spot and you get killed by him at least 2-3 times from that same spot, don't keep trying to kill him. Just avoid that area. The guy will usually get killed sooner or later or realise no one is coming his way so he'll move.
Stay Scoped - When sniping after geting a kill do not release the scope for 5 or more seconds so if they watch the kill cam it makes it harder for them to figure out where you are sniping from.
no headshot? - Never aim for the head with a pistol, aim for the neck, they are not 1 hit kills, by the time the second bullet flys out the recoil will have aimed for you.

Rank Walkthrough
Now, a lot of people, especially those new to the game have been asking me whether it is worth going prestige or not. with the last good onliner, COD4, prestige was a snob value way of playing. 'oh look, I'm gold cross 55......' was pretty much all that was said. Got a bit annoying after a while. In World at War however, there is a new, more addictive, reason to go prestige. Achievements. Now I am writing this website purely for the Xbox 360, so this wont apply for PS3 owners, but going prestigeunlocks the 2 hidden achievements, so if like me, you are a point-whore and want all 45 achievements, definately worth doing, otherwise? nahh, dont lose all your weapons.
